吴冠中

吴冠中(1919-2010)，笔名“荼”，中国当代著名画家，美术教育家、散文家。1942年考取公费留学，次年赴法国巴黎国立高等美术学院深造。1950年回国，先后任教于中央美术学院、北京艺术学院、清华大学建筑系及中央工艺美术学院。现任全国政协常务委员、清华大学美术学院教授。数十年来历以坎坷，苦恋家园，在致力于油画民族化与国画现代化的不断探索、创新中，创作了大量的绘画艺术作品。已出版画集、文论集散文集七十余种。1990年获法国文化部最高文艺勋位，1993年获巴黎市勋章，2002年3月入选为法兰西学院通讯院士。

Wu Guanzhong (1919-2010), pen name "Tea", is a famous contemporary Chinese painter, art educator and essayist. In 1942 he was admitted to study at public expense, and the following year he went to the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris, France for further study. He returned to China in 1950 and taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Beijing Academy of Art, the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University and the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. He is currently standing member of the CPPCC National Committee and professor of the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. More than 70 collections of paintings and essays have been published. In 1990, he was awarded the highest honor of literature and art by the French Ministry of Culture, the Paris Medal in 1993, and the Academy of Communications of the French Academy in March 2002.
